Camera Surveys
Images are captured from telescopic masts raised upto 30m into the air to give
clear and uninterrupted views. Those images are beamed into our self-contained, purpose-built survey vehicles. Here they are transferred onto tape on the spot, ready for inspection by our analysts.
Using our methods, even the most complex junction can be surveyed accurately, and with a two-camera system, simultaneous viewing of two sites allows for detailed origin/destination matrices without the need for registration plate surveys. But an even more complex data set can be created using our innovative multiple camera methods. A network of up to 65 mast mounted cameras can be deployed at strategic points to track vehicles through built up areas or trace pedestrians across populated retail areas.
Inconspicuous to pedestrians and motorists, the cameras allow even large grade separated junctions to be surveyed while still keeping costs in proportion. And this method means data can still be gathered where high masts can't operate, in very busy streets or where survey vehicles would cause an obstruction.
Manual Surveys
Sky High have built a strong reputation for quality video data collection techniques. However, we also have the experience and personnel to undertake the most complex manual surveys.
We employ survey managers and supervisors who have vast experience in the traffic data collection field, to ensure surveys are carried out efficiently and effectively.
We have enumerators in all parts of the country, and can, at short notice, organise an experienced, reliable and conscientious manual survey team.
